Getting here by train
Montpellier has two train stations: Gare Montpellier Saint-Roch, located in the heart of the city, 200 metres from Place de la Comédie, and Gare Montpellier Sud de France, a TGV station on the outskirts of the city.
If you arrive at Gare Saint Roch, the four tramway lines as well as buses (lines 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 16), taxis and car hire companies will take you to the various districts of Montpellier and its surrounding area.
If you arrive at Gare Sud de France, the new TGV station is a multimodal interchange. It is located in the heart of the future Cambacérès district ("innovation" area where companies/start-ups, higher education establishments, housing and natural areas will be located). A shuttle bus will take you to the tramway that runs to Montpellier city centre.
Work began in 2022, and by 2025 the tram will have reached Sud de France station, linking the 2 stations in less than 30 minutes.
Getting here by bus
Montpellier is linked to the whole of Europe: Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Liège, Florence, Milan, Rome, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Bucharest and many other European cities! With Blablabus, Flixbus or Linebus, you can travel to our city for less.

Host families pick up students free of charge on arrival and between 3pm and 10pm, included in the price of the stay. Getting here by car
Montpellier, France's 7th-largest city, is 11km from the Mediterranean, around 3? hours' drive from Barcelona and 4 hours' drive from Italy, in the heart of the Occitanie region and close to Provence, and has it all. Montpellier is served by the A9/A709 and A75 motorways, Montpellier Méditerranée international airport is 8 km from the city centre and Montpellier Saint-Roch station is located in the heart of the city, 200 metres from Place de la Comédie.
Montpellier is a city where ecology and public health count. We have the largest pedestrian zone in Europe and traffic in the city is rather limited so that the use of public transport is favoured. Parking in the city centre is possible, but quite expensive. We recommend that you book with a local outside the centre, so that you can park easily and cheaply. Most hotels and residences have a car park or a partnership with a nearby car park.
